Offset sliding doors.
Manufactured using the Alu Space internal door system, offset sliding doors are made to measure and suitable for residential and commercial interiors across the UK.
Designed to connect spaces, not divide them.
Aluminium internal offset sliding doors are designed for wider openings where a standard sliding configuration would limit access or balance. By allowing sliding panels to move past fixed screens or offset panels, this system provides greater flexibility while maintaining a clean steel-look aesthetic.

Aluminium internal offset sliding doors
Aluminium internal offset sliding doors are designed for wider openings where a standard sliding configuration would
limit access or balance. By allowing panels to slide past fixed screens, offset systems deliver greater flexibility
while maintaining a clean steel-look aesthetic.
Manufactured using the Alu Space internal door system, offset sliding doors are made to measure and suitable for
residential and commercial interiors across the UK.
Designed for wide, flexible openings
Offset sliding doors are ideal when you want to retain fixed glazing while still achieving a generous opening.
Unlike standard sliding doors where panels stack centrally, offset systems allow panels to slide across adjacent screens,
increasing usable opening width.
This configuration is commonly used in:
- Large open-plan living spaces
- Kitchen and dining room dividers
- Home offices within wide openings
- Commercial offices and meeting rooms
- Retail and hospitality interiors
Offset sliding doors offer a strong balance between openness and architectural structure.
What is an offset sliding door?
An offset sliding door system consists of:
- One or more sliding door panels
- One or more fixed side screens positioned offset from the sliding track
As the door opens, the sliding panel moves across the fixed screen rather than stacking behind another moving panel.
This creates a wider clear opening while retaining glazed sections either side.
All elements are designed as a single coordinated system to ensure consistent sightlines,
bar alignment and frame proportions.
Key benefits and USPs

Sizes and make sizes
All offset sliding doors are manufactured to approved make sizes using your supplied measurements in millimetres.
Typical make size guidance
- Overall width – suitable for wide openings, including full room dividers
- Panel widths – defined by configuration, track layout and glazing choice
- Overall height – from 1800mm up to 3000mm
For taller openings, offset sliding systems can be combined with fan lights or additional fixed glazing.
If your opening exceeds standard guidance, a bespoke partition layout will be recommended.
Glazing options

Midrails and design options
- 2-midrail design
- 3-midrail design
A 3-midrail design introduces an additional horizontal bar across sliding panels and fixed screens,
creating a more traditional steel-look appearance. Additional midrails increase cost depending on the number of panels.
Hardware and track system
Offset sliding doors operate on a precision-engineered top track system designed for smooth and reliable movement.
Key features include:
- Slim aluminium track profile
- Smooth sliding action across fixed panels
- Durable rollers suitable for glazed panels
- Clean detailing with minimal visible fixings
Handle options are selected to suit sliding operation and maintain clear sightlines.
Colours and finishes
Black RAL 9005 Matt is the standard finish.
Special RAL colours are available on request and priced as a percentage of the base system cost,
subject to a minimum charge. Special finishes must be the same on both sides of the frame.
