Aluminium internal offset sliding doors with side screens
Aluminium internal offset sliding doors with side screens are designed for wide internal openings where both flexibility
and balance are required. By combining sliding door panels with fixed glazed side screens, this configuration delivers
generous clear openings while retaining light and architectural structure.
Manufactured using the Alu Space internal door system, all offset sliding doors with side screens are made to measure
and suitable for residential and commercial interiors across the UK.
Designed for wide, architectural openings
In larger openings, a standard sliding door alone can feel visually unbalanced or limit usable access.
Side screens allow sliding panels to move across adjacent fixed glazing, increasing the clear opening
while maintaining consistent proportions across the full width.
This configuration is commonly used in:
- Large open-plan kitchen and living spaces
- Dining room and lounge dividers
- Home offices within wide openings
- Commercial offices and meeting rooms
- Retail and hospitality interiors
Offset sliding doors with side screens create a strong architectural feature without sacrificing practicality.
What are offset sliding doors with side screens?
This configuration consists of:
- One or more sliding aluminium door panels
- One or more fixed glazed side screens positioned either side of the opening
As the doors open, the sliding panels move across the fixed side screens rather than stacking centrally.
This allows a wider clear opening while keeping glazed panels in place to maintain light and visual connection.
All elements are designed as a single coordinated system to ensure consistent sightlines,
midrail alignment and frame proportions.
