French internal doors with side screens
The Country Style Food Project at Preston Farm required an internal glazing solution that balanced practicality with strong visual appeal. As a commercial food and hospitality environment, the space needed clear separation between areas while maintaining visibility, light, and an inviting atmosphere for staff and visitors.
To meet these requirements, we installed aluminium French internal doors with fixed side screens, creating a refined internal feature that complements the character of the space.
Commercial design intent
French doors with side screens were selected to suit a wider internal opening while allowing generous access between zones. This configuration provides a sense of openness during operation, while the fixed side screens maintain consistent glazing across the full width of the opening at all times.
The result is a well-proportioned installation that feels intentional and robust, rather than purely decorative.
Slim aluminium profiles and glazing alignment
Slim aluminium profiles were used to achieve a steel-look aesthetic that suits both modern and industrial-inspired commercial interiors. The glazing bars were carefully aligned across both door leaves and side screens, ensuring visual consistency and a strong architectural presence.
This alignment helps the installation read as a single, cohesive structure rather than individual components.
Light, visibility, and workflow
In a working food environment, visibility between spaces is essential. The glazed French doors and side screens allow light to travel freely while maintaining defined zones, improving workflow and awareness without sacrificing separation.
The double-door configuration also supports efficient movement through the space, particularly during busy operational periods.
Durability and finish
Finished in black powder-coated aluminium, the frames provide a clean, professional appearance while offering long-term durability and low maintenance. Toughened safety glass was specified throughout, ensuring compliance with commercial safety standards and suitability for high-use environments.
The system delivers strength, reliability, and ease of use, making it well suited to a commercial setting.
The result
The completed installation provides a practical yet design-led internal solution that enhances both the functionality and visual identity of the space. The French doors with side screens create clear separation while preserving openness, light, and flow throughout the environment.
The Country Style Food Project demonstrates how aluminium internal doors can be effectively used in commercial settings to combine durability, usability, and architectural quality.
